Kevin Cross’s experience with restoration began years ago at a small marina on the San Francisco Bay, where he learned to refinish the woodwork on boats.
He soon developed an interest in restoring furniture and, following a growing desire to learn more about antiques, moved to New York City in 1977, where he began working for various antique dealers and restoration companies.
In 1987, Kevin opened his own painting and gilding studio in the Tribeca area of lower Manhattan. A subsequent move to a larger space in Soho also coincided with a change in direction, with the company placing a greater focus on creating custom painted furniture and decorative art.
After many years in New York, Kevin Cross Studio moved to its present location in Redding, CT

Dianna Nelson’s affiliation with Kevin Cross Studio began in 2004. Her contributions include research and design, painting, gilding, and photography.
